Professional Experience in Reputable
Companies, Internships Abroad,
and Successful Graduates
After highschool graduation, VOŠ GOODWILL in Frýdek-Místek offers students 3 year courses in
attractive fields such as foreign trade or tourism. The school has been placing the preparation of their
students for the shock of entering practical fields as their top priority for the past 30 years.
Hands-on practical experience is highly
emphasized. Throughout their studies,
students are not only taught by their
teachers, but by professionals in specific
fields, and also successful graduates.
The students go on excursions to
businesses and they also work with travel
agencies to prepare specially curated trips
for their schoolmates and colleagues from
the Senior Academy. Some may even work
as guides themselves.
Representatives of the companies
the school works with may voice their
views on the curriculum of the individual
educational modules. The final thesis topics
are also assigned in cooperation with these
companies. In 2019, GOODWILL received
a silver SCHOOL FRIENDLY award in the
“schools” category for their approach
towards cooperation with businesses.
The curriculum at GOODWILL includes
a total of 16 weeks of practical experience
at domestic as well as foreign companies.
The school has long term cooperative
relationships with many regional
business subjects and large companies.
One example of such a cooperation is
with the Kalamaki Travel office in Crete,
Croatia. Many students have worked
as delegates or assistants there over
the summer months.
education which included project based
learning and visits to computer and technical
laboratories. This project was aimed at
educating both students and teachers. Our
participants received the task of creating
a logo and a brochure and they did a great
job. They presented their experience during
their visits to Spain and Portugal.
The school is also part of the Erasmus+
Mobility program as part of which
students visit Spain (Costa Brava, Malaga,
the Canary Islands) and work there as
hotel staff or animators.
The school recognizes the value of its
location in Frýdek-Místek and considers
cooperation with the city to be crucial.
GOODWILL has been the host of
the Senior Academy project, which is
funded by the city of Frýdek-Místek, for
eight years now. This means that the student
body at the higher vocational school
is not solely composed of the younger
generation, but seniors as well. They
study the same subjects, have the same
indexes and go on school trips but it is
only their exams that are a little different.
Nonetheless, the friendly atmosphere
within the school is appreciated by both
generations.
Partnerships
are
another
avenue
GOODWILL uses for cooperation. The
school realizes the importance of following
modern trends, which is why it decided to
join the Industry 4.0 Era project. The leading
role of the project was handled by a school
in Turkey, and other partners hailed from
Lithuania, Italy, Spain and Portugal. The
project revolved around digitisation,
Industry 4.0 and the new methods of
