Relaxation,

Healthy Exercise

and Adrenaline

at Olešná

Not everything can be described in words - sometimes it

is better to just experience it. Ing. Jan Damek, the manager

of Sportplex, told us what you can experience there.

Mr. Damek, to start the interview, what resorts fall

under Sportplex?

Our business company Sportplex Frýdek-Místek, s.r.o.

operates several sports and recreational facilities in

Frýdek-Místek. We operate the Indoor and Summer

Aquapark Olešná, Autokemp Olešná, Hala Polárka,

swimming pool at 11th Elementary School, baseball

field, sports complex in Chlebovice, sports complex in

Zelinkovice and also the skatepark.

The above-mentioned aquapark Olešná is one of

the largest and most modern in the Czech Republic...

What features or unusual experiences attract people not

only from Frýdek Místek, but also surrounding towns?

The Olešná Aquapark offers residents and visitors fun

throughout the whole calendar year, both in the indoor

and summer aquapark.

The indoor aquapark offers the following attractions:

climbing net, bubble bath, swinging pool, jet channel,

water bed with air massage, massage jets in the pool

walls and water spouts and cannons. There is also

a large water slide with an elevation of 10 m and a

length of 90 m and a wild river that is 92.3 m long. One

of our wild rivers are really “wild” and entry is restricted

from the age of twelve. This attraction can turn calm

water into a huge flood within a minute, giving our

visitors a unique opportunity to experience what it’s

like to swim and be carried along by the current in such

wild water.

CEO Sportplex Frýdek-Místek, s.r.o.

During the summer months, our clients have

the opportunity to visit the summer aquapark, which

offers many additional attractions: water spout, water

cannon, air beds, water fountain, swinging pot, climbing

net, massage jets and jet channel. There are also two water

slides, one is 81.6 m long and the other one is 16.6 m long.

What are your plans for potential savings in these

challenging times and are you preparing any new

attractions for the future?

At the moment, we are focusing on potential savings,

especially on energy savings on water heating, the water

itself, and last but not least on electricity. There is a project

on the market that allows us to make savings in all of these

areas, and by purifying and filtering the water, we are also

putting it back into circulation. Currently, legislation tells

us that with every new visitor we have to replace a certain

number of litres of water with new water. You can imagine

what a waste it is. This project can purify the water and

return it back to the waterpark. This will bring savings on

electricity, reheating the water and also the water itself. As

for new attractions, we would like to move with the times

and we are exploring the possibility of getting 3D glasses

to ride our water slide in a 3D world! It works just like

other 3D glasses - you put them on before you go down

the indoor water slide and ride this entire slide with an

incredibly different and powerful experience.

Mr. Damek, thank you for the interview.
