What has changed in Studénka recently?
We have been steadily managing to implement
or prepare projects that have a direct impact on
people’s everyday lives. These include, for example,
the modernisation of public spaces, investment
in sports facilities, and the gradual improvement
of municipal infrastructure.
We have successfully completed the reconstruction
of the indoor swimming pool, the natural swimming
area, the construction of a childrens group facility,
the renovation of the ice stadium, and most recently,
the upgrade of public lighting.
Each year, we increase funding for the participatory
budget as well as public financial support for sports,
cultural and community life in the town.
What are the three most important priorities
for the further development of Studénka today?
1. Transport and infrastructure – we are seeking
solutions that ensure the best possible transport
accessibility and comfort for the town’s residents.
We are building new parking spaces
and pavements, and gradually repairing local
roads.
2. Development of public space and quality
of life – we continue to invest in sports facilities,
educational institutions, parks and public areas
so that Stunka becomes a pleasant place to live
for all generations.
3. Support for housing and job opportunities – we
aim to make the most of the town’s strategic
location and support business activities that will
bring jobs and further regional development,
including the preparation of sites for affordable
housing.
What makes the town attractive for companies,
investors or new projects?
Studénka has a very advantageous location
within the Moravian-Silesian Region. It lies between key
cities in the region, has excellent railway connections,
direct access to the D1 motorway, and proximity
to the international airport in Mošnov, along
with a continuously developing industrial zone. This
makes it an attractive location not only for industrial,
logistics or technological projects.
Companies can benefit from a skilled workforce as well
as the region’s strong industrial tradition. At the same
time, the town strives to be a reliable partner
for investors, seeking ways to meaningfully integrate
new projects into the development of Studénka.
Cooperation with major local employers is also
very important, as they support local sports clubs
and leisure organisations.
Where do you see Studénka’s greatest
untapped potential?
I see significant potential primarily in making better use
of the towns strategic transport location. Thanks to its
railway hub and proximity to the airport, Studénka can
become an attractive place for new business projects
or services linked to transport and logistics.
At the same time, the town has strong potential
in the further development of housing and civic
amenities. If we continue investing in infrastructure,
public spaces and services, Studénka can become
an increasingly attractive place both to live
and to do business.
What are you most proud of in your role
as mayor so far?
What I value most is that we are gradually succeeding
in developing the town and preparing projects that
have long-term significance. These include investments
in infrastructure, sport and public spaces.
Last year, we completed the implementation
of an EPC project – a set of energy-saving measures
through which we reconstructed public lighting,
upgraded the interior lighting of municipal buildings,
and installed photovoltaic systems. These measures will
help us reduce energy costs. It is also very important
to me that we actively address practical issues that
concern residents – such as transport, parking, or
the quality of public services.
I am also proud that Studénka continues to maintain
an active community life and that the town supports
local associations, sports clubs and cultural events that
help create a positive environment for living.
