The Czech Association of Interim Management
(CAIM) has provided a clear answer to that question.
More than half of its membership took part
in developing a set of comprehensive methodologies
defining what every interim manager should review,
assess and propose for improvement when taking on
a new assignment. This is not theory – it is a proven
framework based on practical experience. The entire
project was led and coordinated by Jan Žák, an interim
manager and member of the CAIM board, with a clear
objective: to further raise the quality of professional
interim management practice.
Selection of an Interim Manager
For a company, this means above all greater
confidence and transparency. Choosing an interim
manager is no longer simply a matter of references
or personal impression. The company has
a specific framework at its disposal by which it
can assess a candidate’s professionalism. It can
ask about the approach taken in the first days
of the assignment, the areas the interim manager
analyses, and the way in which they propose changes.
These methodologies therefore move the collaboration
onto a more professional level. The client knows what
to expect. At the same time, the interim manager works
according to a shared standard based on the practice
of experienced professionals. The result is faster
orientation in the company’s situation and a higher
likelihood that the proposed changes will deliver real
impact.
The methodologies that have been developed
represent a major milestone – bringing shared know-
how, a unified professional standard, and a strong
foundation for everyone who wants to provide interim
management at the highest level.
At the same time, CAIM uses them as a basis
for educating both current and future members, and as
the highest standard of services provided in cooperation
with clients. An interim manager who is a member
of CAIM therefore has a clear framework from which
to work, while the company has the reassurance that
it will be working with a professional who knows what
they are doing from the very start. It is no coincidence
that CAIM is the only authorised association for interim
management within the Czech Chamber of Commerce.
Metodiky tak posouvají spolupráci na profesionálnější
úroveň. Zadavatel ví, co může očekávat. Interim mana-
žer zároveň pracuje podle sdíleného standardu, který
vychází z praxe zkušených profesionálů. Výsledkem je
rychlejší orientace v situaci firmy a vyšší pravděpodob-
nost, že navržené změny přinesou skutečný dopad.
Vytvořené metodiky představují významný milník –
přinášejí sdílené know-how, jednotný profesní stan-
dard i pevnou oporu pro všechny, kteří chtějí interim
management poskytovat na špičkové úrovni.
Zároveň jsou využívány CAIM jako základ pro vzdě-
lávání současných i budoucích členů a jako nejvyšší
standard poskytovaných služeb při spolupráci s klien-
ty. Interim manažer s členstvím v CAIM má tedy jasný
rámec, od kterého se odpíchne – a firma jistotu, že do-
stane profesionála, který ví, co dělá od první chvíle.
Není náhodou, že CAIM je jedinou autorizovanou aso-
ciací pro interim management v rámci Hospodářské
komory České republiky.
