An Important Prerequisite for Maintaining Competitiveness

INVESTOŘI V MSK Můžete prosím porovnat fungování sdílených center v Německu a v ČR? Inspirovali jste se německým trhem? Jako součást programu obnovy Future Brose jsme vybudovali 4 podobná centra v Queretaru v Mexiku, Čchang-čchunu v Číně, Puné v Indii a právě tady v Ostravě. V rámci sdílených center máme volné pozice hlavně v našem rostoucím IT týmu, který podporuje skupinu Brose celosvětově. An Important Prerequisite for Maintaining Competitiveness Brose CZ is a major stable employer in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The recently established Shared Services Center provides functions in Central Europe for controlling, central IT, purchasing and finance. What are the benefits of the Center and what was the main impetus for its creation? We bring you an interview with Andreas Denninger, head of the Brose Business Service center. Can you briefly introduce us to what Brose does? What is its structure? How many employees are there? Brose is the fourth largest family-owned automotive supplier worldwide. Our intelligent solutions for vehicle access and interiors provide greater comfort and flexibility. Innovative concepts for thermal management increase efficiency and contribute to environmental and climate protection. We like to say that every other newly-produced vehicle in the world is equipped with at least one Brose product. 25,000 employees at sixty-five locations in twenty-four countries work for Brose. In the Czech Republic, we provide jobs for around 3,000 people. The majority of them work in production, but there is also a growing number of specialists in customer teams, product development and transport management. Most recently, we have been taking more and more responsibility for other companywide processes through our European ‘Business Service Centre’, located in the centre of Ostrava. What was the main impetus for setting up the Service Centre? About two years ago, Brose launched the Future Brose renewal program to promote growth and increase our competitiveness. The program includes measures such as streamlining workflows and reducing hierarchy levels as well as digitization in development, administration, and 58 ǀ POSITIV 4/2021 production. Our new shared service organization serves this purpose perfectly. What is the purpose of the centre and how does it work? We are bundling, standardizing and digitizing administrative tasks. Providing these services from Ostrava to all internal customers maximizes efficiency and ensures a group-wide quality standard. In the course of automating a range of defined processes, our growing workforce can even focus on more challenging tasks. Can you tell us what the work focus of the service centre in Ostrava is? Our local experts provide services in the areas of controlling, finance, purchasing and IT—this department benefits from Ostrava’s increasing potential in the IT field. The presence of the Technical University of Ostrava as well as major IT companies provides a much higher labor market potential compared to other European countries. Our IT specialists enjoy a very high appreciation and recognition within the group. How many of these service centres have you set up worldwide? As part of the Future Brose renewal program, Brose has decided to establish four such centres, located in
