BUSINESS

organisations participating in the network

services in the Czech Republic, so the

network services cover the whole republic.

The partners are very closely connected to

the innovation and business infrastructure

in their regions which increases the impact

of the network‘s service offer on potential

clients.

Can you think of an example of a company

that the Enterprise Europe Network has

helped grow and succeed in the market?

The story of Na vínko company is very

inspirational. The company was founded

by two young entrepreneurs, originally

employed in a bank. Thanks to the EEN

project, they travelled abroad on a mission

to Spain with us, where they found the local

market. Today, they import wines from there.

And they are very successful!

Other companies that have benefited

from the services of the Enterprise Europe

Network are LANEX, Webdevel and Karel

Pecl—EKOVERMES, members of the Regional

Chamber of Commerce of the MoravianSilesian Region.

The Webdevel company has been present

on the Czech IT scene since 2009. Over the

course of their time here, their team of IT

specialists has implemented more than 900

projects and has progressed from the creation

of e-shops and websites to the development

of sophisticated web applications, e-learning

platforms and complex web solutions tailored

to the needs of companies of all categories,

from the smallest to the largest. The company

has developed a flexible system called TASK

IN TIME, which enables professional project

management and a bug-tracking system. It

is ideal for companies in all industry fields

that need to plan and manage their projects

transparently from one place.

The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN)

in Ostrava has been working with the

company on a long-term basis to find

business and technology partners, engage

the company in international events and

training, and help with the company‘s

internationalisation. As part of an incoming

trade mission of German companies

in Ostrava, EEN connected Webdevel

with a German start-up in order to share

experiences and create a tailor-made web

application for the foreign partner.

The main activity of the company Karel

Pecl-EKOVERMES is the breeding of

Californian earthworms for the purpose

of disposing organic waste as well as the

production of high quality organic fertilizer.

All of their products have been certified

for use in organic farming. They have

used EEN‘s services to expand into foreign

markets and find foreign trading partners.

They also appreciated the assistance in

starting exports to Nigeria when problems

arose in the arrangement of the necessary

documentation and certification for export

to the Nigerian market.

How Czech ropes hold ships in Swedish

ports in northern Europe

Over the last fifty years, LANEX has

transformed into a global company with

almost 85% of its production exported.

Thanks to the support of the Enterprise

Europe Network, the company has found

a business partner in Sweden.

The first phase of the cooperation was

mainly about product definition. The

product was so-called paper ballast ropes,

a knitted polyamide fibre with a hollow

construction that resists flattening. The

complexity of the product has only

predefined its uniqueness. The next step

was to define the target markets. The

Czech company was interested in the

Swedish market where it had made a few

unsuccessful attempts before.

Thanks to the cooperation between EEN

Ostrava and EEN in Jönköping, Eieprocess

was identified as a company that was

interested in the ropes. After several

online meetings, representatives of both

companies signed a contract to export the

first batch of ballast ropes to Sweden.

At first, the situation seemed impossible.

We had a company with no international

contacts, no experience with the Nordic

market. It was EEN that changed everything,

as it was able to find partners from Ostrava

on the other side of Europe.
