a Large Scale Project Which
Secured Energy and Financial
Savings for the Bohnice
Psychiatric Hospital
Veolia Energie ČR and D-energy have completed one of the largest guaranteed energy saving
projects in the Czech Republic. Thanks to this project, the Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital will
consume 30 percent less energy and save almost 15 million CZK per year. The savings are
guaranteed for 10 years.
"It was a demanding project that included a range
of construction and technological measures, from
the replacement of almost 10 kilometres of piping and
the reconstruction of windows to the introduction
of a new measurement and control system. We
completed the project on time and the 10-year period
of guaranteed savings could begin. We have proven
that we can handle a large complex project in a large
site, moreover with listed buildings," said Reda Rahma,
CEO of Veolia Energie group.
Representatives of the Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital
and the consortium of Veolia Energie ČR and D-energy
signed a contract for the provision of energy services
with guaranteed savings in May 2022. This was followed
by verification of the baseline condition for the design
of the most suitable energy-saving measures and their
implementation began in the summer. The scope and
total cost of over 600 million CZK makes the contract
one of the largest EPC projects in the Czech Republic.
"The advantage of this solution for us is the possibility
of combining it with a subsidy and the fact that
the supplier contractually guarantees the savings.
Investments beyond the subsidy are repaid from
the money saved. Otherwise, we could not have
afforded such a large-scale renovation. We will save
a third of the energy costs compared to the situation
before the project, and this is a significant item in
our operating costs," explained Zuzana Barboríková,
Director of the Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital.
The project included the reconstruction of the central
heat exchanger station with an output of 8 MW and
PSYCHYATRICKÁ NEMOCNICE BOHNICE
