was governor at the time, searching for objective
criteria with which to evaluate structures that enter
the competition. We wanted to create something
that sets any narrow personal opinion aside and
develop a model that would allow for a complex
evaluation. After we held these discussions, we
decided that the Association of Construction
Entrepreneurs, Czech Chamber of Authorised
Engineers and Technicians, Architect Community
and the Moravian-Silesian Region should make
up the announcing bodies of the competition.
Production and organization of the event is
handled by Pulary.
Could you tell us a little more about
the competition?
The competition includes six basic categories (Civic
Amenities, Residential Buildings, Family Houses,
Industrial Buildings, Transportation, Engineering
and Water Management Buildings and Buildings
outside the Moravian-Silesian Region). The main
objectives of the event are to present and promote
exceptional projects and structures in the Moravian-
Silesian region and familiarising the professional
audience and general public with the best
construction projects within the region and their
creators. The competition also aims to publicise
and promote the designing, supplying and investing
entities that are based in the Moravian-Silesian
region and are involved in these construction
projects. Other than the Moravian-Silesian Region,
our partners also include city governments,
the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade,
the Czech Ministry of Regional Development, and
we also managed to gain general, main and media
partners. Our professional jury panel consists of
11 members assembled from representatives of
the announcing bodies. The general public also
gets the opportunity to vote for their favorite
