Jan Kastner, General Manager, Prosper Golf
Resort Čelad
Both resorts - Prosper Golf Resort Čeladná and Golf
Resort Ostravice - have long been among the best
in the Czech Republic. I am really glad that we have
managed to take advantage of the exceptional situation
where two first-class resorts are so close to each other.
I believe that combining them into a 55 hole golf
destination is the best way to take them to the next
level. This cooperation is important not only for our
resorts but also for the whole region.
A big change is coming to your golf academies,
which will now be led by world-class instructor,
Gonzalo Sánchez
First and foremost, the Spanish instructor Gonzalo
Sánchez, a PGA Professional accredited instructor, is
bringing the Stack and Tilt Academy, which operates
worldwide with more than 300 branches, to the Czech
Republic for the first time. We are happy that our
players will have the opportunity to be the first in
the Czech Republic to use not only the methodology,
but also the services of a world-class academy. We
strive to bring the best not only to the training of adults,
but especially children.
In regards to investments in the golf resorts and
infrastructure, what are the changes coming before
the new season?
During the winter we really did not slack off. In
the autumn we reseeded all 36 greens at Čeladná,
which the players should experience this season.
Over the winter, we reconstructed the vast majority of
bunkers on the entire course. We added new drainage
and changed or removed some of the obstacles on
the course. This includes a completely new navigation
system throughout the course, as well as new tee
boxes. Everything is geared towards the ultimate playing
experience. In our facilities, players will find a renovated
restaurant, an event hall with a capacity of up to 350
people, as well as a new guesthouse for 75 people.
The Ostravice Golf Resort has not been left behind.
The bunkers have been renovated, we are working
on the reconstruction of the terrace including new
furniture, we have improved the driving range and
we have completed the installation of photovoltaics
throughout the resort.
The icing on the cake will be the linking of the two
resorts by a buggy road, which is currently in
preparation. Moreover, I can promise that we are
definitely not stopping there and will continue to
systematically improve our resorts.
Opening a new golf destination is surely a great
challenge. What goals have you set for the future?
There is still a lot of work to be done, be it in the area
of technical development of both of the resorts,
improving the services and possibilities of the golf
destination, or preparation of completely new services.
We already have a vision for further development for at
least the next three years. Our guests can look forward
to systematic development and constant innovations
in our resorts.
Petr Koudela, CEO of Moravian-Silesian Tourism s.r.o.
The Moravian-Silesian Region is the second largest
in the Czech Republic in terms of the number of golf
resorts after the Central Bohemia Region. Do you see
this as an added value in the development of tourism?
Absolutely. This area has huge potential. We live in
a region where golf has a really long standing tradition.
Some courses are even among the oldest golf courses
in our country. People can enjoy playing on high quality
courses with views of mountains, parks and industrial
monuments. Few regions in the Czech Republic can
boast such a rich network of golf infrastructure.
How do you feel about the emerging 55 Holes
Golf Destination project?
Golf is one of the key pillars of tourism in our region.
We certainly welcome the fact that the region will
boast the largest golf resort. The merger of golf resorts
is an important tourism venture that will help improve
the image of our tourist destination in North Moravia.
I believe that this significant investment in golf
infrastructure will attract even more visitors to our area
and strengthen not only our position on the map of golf
destinations, but also the awareness of North Moravia
as a great holiday destination with a rich network of
services and quality facilities for leisure activities.
More and more often it is being said that
the Moravian-Silesian Region is no longer a black
Ostrava, but an attractive tourist region with
potential for further development. Where would
you invite visitors of the region?
There are many attractive places in our region.
The activities we are implementing within the region
are aimed at inviting tourists from the most exposed
places, such as Lysá hora, Pustevny, Štramberk, etc.,
to other places in the region. Here I would certainly
mention the Slate Landscape in the Poodří region,
Osoblažsko, Vítkovsko, Slezská Harta in the Bruntál
region, or the Trójmezí region in Těšín Silesia.
We have prepared the Grand Opening 2024 for
opening of the season and the grand opening of
the 55 HOLES Golf Destination, which will take
place on 18
th
and 19
th
April 2024. The event will be
not only for players and invited guests, but there
will also be events for the public on both days.
The opening ceremony of the golf destination
will also be attended by the Formula 3 Effective
Racing team and its driver Vladimír Netušil, and
our guests will have the opportunity to take a peek
under the hood of the Grand Prix. The event will
also include charity activities in cooperation with
the EGO Foundation and the total proceeds will be
donated to the Children's Home in Čeladná.
