How Do Czech Companies Prepare
for Digital Transformaon?

V době zásadních a rychlých změn v trž-
ním prostředí zaznamenáváme zvýšený
zájem českých firem o analýzy potřeb
a definování přidané hodnoty v oblasti di-
gitální transformace. Souvisí to často se
stanovováním nových obchodních strategií
a diverzifikací produktových portfolií za-
měřených na nové zákazníky a segmenty
průmyslu. Firmy se na nové digitalizační
projekty dívají čím dál častěji v širším kon-
textu a uvědomují si, že je na takové projek-
ty nutná důkladná organizační a procesní
příprava. Velmi důležitým faktorem je pro-
pagace vize cílového řešení digitální trans-
formace a motivace klíčových pracovníků.
Co se týče velikosti investic, firmy důsledně
poměřují vyčíslenou přidanou hodnotu di-
gitalizačních projektů a celkové náklady na
vybrané informační technologie.
At a time of fundamental and rapid changes
in the market environment, we see an
increased interest of Czech companies in
analysing needs and defining added value in
the field of digital transformation. This is often
related to setting new business strategies
and diversifying product portfolios aimed
at new customers and industry segments.
Companies are increasingly looking at new
digitalization projects in a broader context
and realising that thorough organisational
and process preparation is required for
such projects. Promoting the vision of the
target digital transformation solution and
motivating key personnel is a very important
factor. In terms of the size of investments,
companies consistently measure the
quantified added value of digitalization
projects against the total cost of the selected
information technologies.
Digitální transformaci vnímáme jako jednu
z nejdůležitějších investic do budoucnosti
společnosti. Připravujeme propojení ERP
systému s daty z výrobních strojů a inte-
ligentního skladování materiálu. V dalším
kroku chceme zavést digitalizaci výrobní
dokumentace. V přípravné fázi jsme audito-
vali schopnost zaměstnanců plně využívat
ERP systém a data získané z výrobních pro-
cesů. Ve spolupráci s experty jsme stanovili
kroky potřebné digitální transformace.
Náš obor podnikání je velmi inovativní,
a proto jsme pro naše zaměstnance při-
pravili tréninkový program. Snažíme se
zaměstnance rozvíjet jak v oblasti od-
borného vzdělávání pro digitalizaci, tak
v kompetencích nutných pro transformač-
ní změnu. Zároveň probíhají jednání s IT
specialisty s cílem vytvoření postupného
plánu digitalizace procesů.
Snažíme se do tohoto procesu zapojit
také studenty. Proto nabízíme stáže či pra-
xe pro studenty IT technologií.
We perceive the digital transformation as
one of the most important investments
in the future of the company. We are
preparing to connect the ERP system
with data from production machines and
intelligent material storage. In the next step,
we want to introduce the digitalization
of production documentation. In the
preparatory phase, we audited the
employees‘ ability to fully use the ERP
system and the data obtained from the
production processes. In collaboration with
experts, we set out the steps needed for
digital transformation.
Our field of business is very innovative,
thus we have prepared a training program
for our employees. We strive to develop
our employees both in the field of training
for digitalisation and in the competences
required for transformational change. At
the same time, we are in discussions with IT
specialists with the aim of creating a phased
plan for digitalization processes.
We are also trying to involve students in this
process. That is why we offer internships
and apprenticeships for IT students.
