vidět, že plány města, jako bytová výstavba, nové fakulty

Ostravské univerzity na Černé louce či dominantní stavby

The Billion Year: Ostrava

Has the Highest Budget in Its History

Mgr. Zuzana Bajgarová has been deputy mayor since 2018. She has previously served as deputy

mayor of the Ostrava-Poruba district. She focuses on investment, spatial planning, and city

development. She spoke to POSITIV Business & Style magazine about key investments planned for

this year, the economic status of Ostrava and the construction of the new concert hall.

ever had. Please, tell us about some key investments

planned for 2022.

A total of 4.4bn CZK of the budget, roughly 36%, is

devoted to investment, which fulfills its pro-investment

composition. The sum includes direct investment as well as

savings for the city’s significant investment projects, such as

the reconstruction of the Ostrava City Hospital, the Nové

Lauby apartment complex and a new concert hall, including

the reconstruction of the Ostrava House of Culture. This

year, the largest portion of investment funds is directed to

the areas of healthcare and social services. In addition to

the aforementioned hospital reconstruction, the Korýtko

retirement home will undergo a renovation process worth
