12 ǀ POSITIV Ridera Sport
Could you briefly introduce the Ridera
Sport complex? What activities
does it offer and what are its main
advantages?
Ridera Sport offers a wide range of sporting
and leisure activities for all age groups – from
children as young as four to senior citizens.
Visitors can enjoy tennis, badminton,
beach volleyball, table tennis, indoor golf
during the winter season, the Jump Arena
for both children and adults, a swimming
pool, and a large wellness zone featuring
saunas and massage services.
The complex works with a broad spectrum
of organisations – from kindergartens
to senior clubs – and can flexibly tailor
programmes to suit the specific needs
of each group. The range of activities
is diverse, and the pricing policy
is accommodating to all target groups.
One of Ridera Sport’s main advantages
is its strategic location. A four-star hotel
and a professional athletics stadium
are situated in the immediate vicinity,
making it an ideal venue for sports camps,
tournaments, and corporate events.
The location is so attractive that even
the WTA tennis circuit has made use of the
complex – with global stars such as Iga
Świątek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff,
Emma Raducanu, Bianca Andreescu,
and top Czech players including Barbora
Krejčíková, Karolína Muchová, and Karolína
Plíšková training on its courts. The complex
is also easily accessible thanks to nearby
tram and bus stops, and visitors particularly
appreciate the large-capacity car park
located right by the entrance, which allows
for convenient, stress-free arrival.
You describe Ridera Sport as a sports
and cultural venue. What facilities
do you offer for social and corporate
events? What services do you provide?
The complex offers both outdoor
and indoor spaces for a variety of social
events. Outside, we have a small
square with a stage, ideal for concerts,
performances or other cultural events
for up to 200 people. A major advantage
is its location outside a residential area,
meaning noise restrictions don’t apply.
For indoor events, we use our sports hall,
where we’ve hosted celebrations with
a stage, lighting, dancing, and catering.
We offer companies tailored team
building events and large-scale functions
– from small sports tournaments to full-
day programmes for over 600 people.
With access to the entire venue, we’re
able to divide activities across multiple
zones and create an experience that
perfectly fits the client’s needs.
We provide a full-service package from
A to Z – including the sports programme,
catering, technical setup (sound, lighting,
furniture), decorations, and staffing.
We collaborate with a professional
catering company and also operate our
own café, allowing us to deliver anything
from light refreshments to festive menus.
Because everything is organised in-house,
the process is fast, efficient and often
more cost-effective than working with
an external agency. That’s exactly why
so many companies choose to come back
to us again and again.
What events and programmes do you
offer for families with children, schools
and kindergartens?
Popular activities for families with
children include tennis and badminton
schools, the much-loved Jump Arena,
the swimming pool, and the relaxation
zones. Children from kindergartens
regularly attend tennis lessons here as part
of their school programme. We mainly
organise what we call „situated events“
– tournaments in specific sports. This
year, for example, we hosted sports days
for schools, welcoming entire classes
and providing them with a full morning
programme. The children had the chance
to try tennis, badminton, golf, movement-
based activities, the Jump Arena, and the
swimming pool. We believe that this
combination of sport and education
is absolutely essential.
A unique space for athletes, families and businesses – the mulfunconal sports and cultural
complex Ridera Sport builds on the rich, century-long tradion of the SK Vítkovice 1926 – Ridera
club, and connues to expand the range of services it oers. It doesn’t stagnate – it modernises,
grows and inspires. But at the heart of everything are the people. When you’re lucky enough
to have the right enthusiasts – passionate and proacve – you’ve already won. It is precisely thanks
to them that Ridera Sport is thriving.
Facility manager Pavel Klimek has big plans and an infecous enthusiasm that draws you
in immediately. In this interview, he shares how this mulfunconal sports and cultural venue
operates, why even Olympians are coming here, and what visions could elevate the complex to an
even higher level.
