Vagonka: Sport, Family Fun and an
Evening Show
Each year, hundreds of employees from Škoda Vagonka—and more recently, its sister company
Škoda Ekova—gather at the Ridera Sport complex. In an interview with CEO Ing. Marn Bednarz,
we learn why this mulfunconal venue in Ostrava remains the only locaon that has consistently
met the demanding requirements for a full-day corporate event that blends sports, family-friendly
acvies and evening entertainment.
How long has Škoda Vagonka been holding its
All-Sports Day at the Ridera Sport complex? Could
you explain what exactly an „All-Sports Day“ entails
and who takes part in the event?
We‘ve been using the venue since 2019, and this year
marked the sixth edition of this popular event, which
is designed not only for our employees but also for
their families. It regularly attracts over 600 participants,
and Ridera Sport suits our needs perfectly in every
respect.
The format of the All-Sports Day combines athletic
performance, team spirit, and a relaxed family
atmosphere. The main events include beach volleyball,
foot tennis, doubles tennis, badminton, and a relay race
held in the car park. Throughout the day, the swimming
pool and trampoline centre are open. There are plenty
of attractions for children—bouncy castles, games,
face painting, temporary tattoos, and even a sandbox
for the youngest visitors. The evening segment
is traditionally dedicated to entertainment with a DJ
and live music lasting until midnight. This diverse
programme makes it an ideal team building event,as
well as a family day.
What made you decide to host the event specifically
at this venue?
We chose Ridera Sport not only for its excellent
accessibility—it’s located right by a tram stop
and practically in the centre of Ostrava—but above
all for its large capacity, high-quality facilities,
and the professional attitude of its management
and staff.
After the second edition, we did consider changing
the location to bring something new to the event,
but we couldn’t find another venue in Ostrava that
offered a comparable level of comfort. Since then,
we‘ve returned to Ridera Sport every year with
confidence, and we‘re no longer considering a change.
How would you rate your collaboration with Ridera
Sport and what do you value the most?
What we appreciate most is the professional
and accommodating approach of the entire Ridera
Sport team. The cooperation runs smoothly, with
competition logistics fully managed, including
referees. The organisation overall is of a very high
standard—there’s ample parking, sufficient changing
rooms, and excellent hygiene facilities. On top of that,
the catering is outstanding—participants are provided
with a sports breakfast, hot lunches, and snacks
throughout the day. All of this makes the event
significantly easier and more efficient for us to organise.
Do you plan to continue organising
“All-Sports Day” in the years to come?
Absolutely. Ridera Sport has become an integral part
of this tradition. We book our dates well in advance
and consider this partnership both stable and highly
beneficial.
