EDITORIAL
Stovka let. Takové jubileum, to už je pořádný důvod
k oslavě a gratulaci. Celou stoletou historii vítkovic-
kého tenisu a jeho klubu zachycují dnes už trochu
vybledlé vzpomínkové fotografie v uchovaných kroni-
kách. V průběhu 100 let existence klubu zde vyrostla,
trénovala a připravovala se řada vynikajících tenistů,
a pořádaly se tu prestižní tenisové turnaje. V porevo-
luční novodobé historii zde trénovali nebo relaxovali
i hráči a hráčky světového formátu. Z mnohých z nich
se staly tenisové legendy. V roce 2020 se areál stal tré-
ninkovým zázemím pro nejlepší světové hráčky v rámci
mezinárodního turnaje ženské tenisové asociace WTA,
který proběhl v sousední Ostravar Aréně. Z bohaté his-
torie dnes čerpá sportovní klub SK VÍTKOVICE 1926
– Ridera, z.s., který se zaměřuje především na výcho-
vu a rozvoj mladých tenisových talentů a organizaci
turnajů.
Kdyby zakladatelé tenisového klubu SK Vítkovice 1926
měli tu možnost porovnat tehdejší původní podobu
svého areálu s moderní současností, asi by nevěřili
svým očím. V současnosti klub funguje v rámci sportov-
ního areálu Ridera Sport. Nový moderní multifunkční
sportovně-společenský komplex nabízí a poskytuje ši-
roké možnosti nejen pro sport a relax, ale i pro kulturní,
volnočasové a rekreační aktivity či společenská, firem-
ní nebo rodinná setkání. Jeho univerzálnost a flexibilita
spojená s příslušným servisem umožňují nabídnout
kvalitní zázemí všem věkovým skupinám a propojit tak
sport a pohybové aktivity s komunitním životem i zá-
bavou. Výhodou areálu je jeho umístění v sousedství
městského atletického a fotbalového stadionu, snadná
dopravní dostupnost a dostatečné parkovací možnosti
přímo u areálu.
Přeji vítkovickému tenisu k jeho stému jubileu stále
neutuchající elán a drajv do jeho dalších let. Nechť se
mu i nadále daří motivovat k tomuto sportu co nejvíce
mladých, ale i těch dříve narozených. Multifunkčnímu
společenskému areálu Ridera Sport přeji, aby byl nadá-
le moderním prostorem, který slouží nejen široké škále
sportovních aktivit, ale i společenským událostem. Ať
svou nabídkou přitahuje k pohybu i setkávání co nejví-
ce zájemců napříč všemi generacemi.
A century- this type of milestone is truly a reason
to celebrate and congratulations. The entire hundred-
year history of Vítkovice tennis and its club is captured
in now slightly faded commemorative photographs
preserved in chronicles. Over the course of its 100-
year existence, many outstanding tennis players trained
and developed here, and the club hosted numerous
prestigious tennis tournaments. In its more recent post-
revolution era, world-class male and female players
came to train or unwind here – many of whom have
since become tennis legends. In 2020, the venue served
as a training facility for the world’s top female players
during the international WTA tournament held at the
neighbouring Ostravar Arena. Today, the rich heritage
continues through the sports club SK VÍTKOVICE 1926
– Ridera, z.s., which focuses primarily on nurturing
and developing young tennis talents and organising
tournaments.
If the founders of the SK Vítkovice 1926 tennis club
had the chance to compare the original form of their
grounds with how it looks today, they would hardly
believe their eyes. Today, the club operates within
the Ridera Sport complex – a modern, multifunctional
sports and social facility that offers a wide range
of options not only for sport and relaxation, but also
for cultural, leisure, and recreational activities, as well
as social, corporate or family gatherings. Its versatility
and flexibility, combined with a full range of services,
provide quality facilities for all age groups, seamlessly
blending sports and physical activities with community
and entertainment. One of the complex’s key
advantages is its location next to the city’s athletics
and football stadium, along with excellent transport
accessibility and ample on-site parking.
I wish Vítkovice tennis continued enthusiasm and drive
as it enters its next century. May it keep inspiring not
only the younger generation but also those a little older
to take up this wonderful sport. To the multifunctional
Ridera Sport complex, I extend my best wishes for it to
remain a modern venue that supports a wide spectrum
of sporting activities, as well as social events. May
it continue to attract people of all ages – encouraging
both physical activity and meaningful connections
across generations.
