When Generali Česká pojišťovna was selecng a venue for its key event, Ridera Sport outshone
even Prague and Brno. So why has this Ostrava-based complex become a favourite for dozens
of business partners and managers from across the country? We asked the honorary president
of the GČP CUP Ostrava, Ing. Josef Sluka.
Why did you choose the Ridera Sport
complex as the venue for your
annual events?
Česká pojišťovna a.s. has been using
the Ridera Sport complex as the main
venue for its annual social and sporting
event since 2009. We made this choice
deliberately, preferring it over other
locations, including Prague and Brno.
The decision was based on a combination
of key factors – the strategic location close
to hotel accommodation, the availability
of on-site parking (a significant advantage
in the area), a wide range of sports
and relaxation activities, and the possibility
to reserve the entire complex exclusively
for our event.
What does such an event typically
look like, and what takes place during
the day?
This event, now the largest corporate
business gathering in Moravia, attracts
80–100 participants from across the Czech
Republic each year – including business
partners, management, and colleagues.
Ridera Sport was chosen for its all-in-one
facilities, accessibility, and excellent
infrastructure, and we’ve never been
disappointed. It’s the perfect venue
for our needs – whether sporting, social,
or business-related. The programme
runs from early morning until midnight.
The main attraction is a doubles tennis
tournament for unregistered players,
but guests also enjoy badminton,
pétanque, access to the wellness
area, business meetings, and informal
networking sessions.
What would you say about the quality
of services and the attitude of the staff?
The complex has always been reserved
exclusively for us, which greatly adds to its
uniqueness. The staff are exceptionally
helpful, friendly, and professional.
They accommodated us even during
the pandemic, ensuring all necessary
safety measures, including face masks.
Every year, something improves – new
features, innovations, enhancements –
which clearly shows that the complex
is alive and evolving.
A crucial role in the smooth running
of the event is played by the commercial
directors. We’ve worked with four so far,
and they all have been highly professional.
In particular, Mr Pavel Klimek, who
is known for his sense of style, order,
and quality catering, contributes
significantly to the high standard of the
entire event. Thanks to the owner’s efforts,
the level of service has not only been
maintained but continues to improve –
something I truly appreciate.
What does the Ridera Sport complex
mean to you personally and to your
company?
For Generali Česká pojišťovna, Ridera
Sport remains not only a practical choice
but also a place that our people hold close
to their hearts. We look forward to the
upcoming edition and to sharing more
great experiences together.
