How did this school prepare you for studying abroad?
I have always had a need to do everything in life beyond expectations,
and it was for this reason that I decided to study at a six-year
grammar school. At first, my path was directed to the grammar
school in Valašské Meziříčí, where during my two years of study,
I realized that learning should not be only in the form of writing notes
and taking exams. So, I started looking for an alternative, and after
visiting several international grammar schools all over the Czech
Republic, the 1
st
International School of Ostrava was the obvious
choice. To this day, I consider this decision to be one of the most
crucial in my life. The preparation for studying abroad, which my
classmates and I had a really great time doing, consists of several
factors, starting with an active and creative approach on the part
of the teachers. They did this by providing motivation to engage
in extracurricular activities and to build interest in world events.
If I had to highlight three skills that this school has given me, it would
definitely be listening, confidence, and effective communication.
