When and why did you decide to start business?
After graduating from university, I tried to find a job
in my field of study, but it only lasted a few months.
Since I already had a family and two sons at the time,
I was looking for an additional source of income.
The role of an insurance agent was attractive and after
receiving the first monthly salary I decided to follow
this path immediately.
Do you have a motto that guides you through life?
We do business impulsively, and we have never
built anything so-called „for profit“. We put a piece
of ourselves into everything and create with our hearts.
That is our vision, which we believe in. Perhaps, while
talking to you, I also agree with the statement „behind
every successful man stands a successful woman“,
or vice versa?
How did the idea to create all the elements of the
Hukvaldy Resort come about?
The idea was born gradually. The Hukvaldy Resort
is nowadays a comprehensive project that combines
comfortable accommodation, sports activities, a café
and wellness. In 2012, we completed the construction
of a 19-hectare golf course, which now offers
11-hole play. Another element was the Guest House
Roubenka, a stylish cottage for 12 people, with
a sauna and a swimming lagoon. The boutique hotel
Ráj na zemi with four luxurious rooms and a renowned
café in the centre of Hukvaldy looked like it would
be our last project. However, now you can look forward
to a new element in our Resort, which will be in close
proximity to Ráj na zemi. In the meantime, we have
managed to build an oasis of peace and tranquillity
in the form of the comfortable Glamping Pod Hůrkou
with an outdoor sauna.
What makes your “resort” different for the public?
What characterises it?
Offering courses and services for the general public,
that’s what we’re after. Thanks to golf, we can connect
generations and we know that the love of golf can
be so-called inherited. Our target audience varies from
families with children, corporate events or seniors.
In addition to playing on the field, we offer the possibility
to rent equipment, where beginners and advanced
players can improve their skills. We welcome those
who come just for a coffee, a dessert, or sit with
a glass of wine in the clubhouse or on the outdoor
terrace offering beautiful views of the castle. This
is an inexpensive activity, where for 400 CZK you
can spend about 1,5 hours on the course playing golf,
which is how long it takes to play all 11 holes. We are
a small version of Karlštejn, which is just right for a nice
group of people.

The president of the Hukvaldy Golf Club is Zbyhněv Bartulec, an engineer in economics who
graduated in the eld of Railway Transport Economics. Although he tried the job of a dispatcher,
his career ulmately took him to the nancial sector. Together with his wife Tereza, he built
and managed a network of 10 branches oering complete nancial services to the public. At the
same me, he led a group of 150 advisors oering products from nancial instuons operang
in Czech and Slovak markets. He is a golf lover, and a family-type visionary.
