Art that Breathes with Technology and Nature

90 ǀ POSITIV MAN
led me to explore and embrace new
technologies and means of expression.
One of those is kineticism and the
interaction between the viewer and the
sculpture.
Kinetic mirrored surfaces are a natural
and logical outcome of my creative
journey. They give me the freedom
to transform the form and language
of the object while allowing for mutual
interaction with the viewer. I intentionally
design my kinetic mirrored pieces to play
with and reshape not just the space
around them, but also our perception
of that space – enriching us in the process.
They often carry a hidden subtext and can
provoke thoughts about the transience
of existence and the contrast between
what we see and what is real.
What does working with stainless steel
and steel mean to you? What fascinates
you about these materials?
You could say that stainless steel was
somehow destined for me. Its part of the
legacy and environment I grew up in.
Even as a child, I would watch my father
spend hours transforming and shaping
it. What inspired me most was his work
on fountains, which I’ve developed a deep
fondness for and continue to create to this
day. Still, I found my own path to working
with it.
Over time, I’ve experimented with many
materials – from traditional modelling
clay to final castings in various media.
These experiences and my understanding
of different materials reaffirmed my choice
and the reasons why I gravitated towards
steel and its combination with stainless
steel. Above all, I value the ability to work
directly with the material in its raw form,
rather than casting it. I also appreciate
the method of working with steel,
even though its physically demanding.
