What values do you want to pass on,
and what challenges have you
faced so far?
I consider honesty, patience, and relationships
to be key. The company should always
maintain its humanity and stability.
The biggest challenge was aligning our
approaches. I come from a place of tradition,
while Sandra brings a new pace. But that’s
where I see our strength—we complement
each other and learn mutual respect. Trust
and communication are essential.
Was it difficult for you to start passing
on responsibility?
Honestly? Yes. I built the company as my
“third child.” It’s hard to stop being
the only one who knows everything
and makes every decision. But I feel that
the time is right. Today, I’m happy to see
the company infused with new energy
while staying true to what makes it unique.
Are you able to “switch off” and not
discuss business when
you’re together privately?
Completely switching off doesn’t happen
often. The company has been with us for
so long that some topics naturally come
up even over Sunday lunch. But we know
when it’s time to talk strategy—and when
to simply enjoy time together as mother
and daughter.
Sandra, When did you first realise
that you might continue in the
family company?
I grew up with the company from
childhood. Both my parents are
entrepreneurs, so it was a natural
environment for me. I always felt that one
day I wanted to have something of my
own—either something completely new
or a continuation of our family tradition.
The company is very personal to me,
and over time I realised I wanted its story
to carry on. I’d be sad if it ended outside
our family. And who knows—perhaps one
day my daughters will take it over as well.
What motivates you most about leading
ELEGANCE? Is there anything that you
approach with a sense of respect?
I’m motivated by the opportunity
to develop a brand with a long history
while preserving the values my mother
built. I enjoy finding new ways to be closer
to our clients. I have deep respect for
the responsibility toward our employees
and customers. It’s a challenge, but also
a great opportunity.
Where do you see opportunities for
the brand’s growth?
I see potential in connecting tradition
with modern communication. I want
the brand to open up more to the younger
generation, while remaining true to its
values. We’re also planning new projects
aimed at a different target group, linked
to our own production.
What have you learned from your
mother so far—not only as an
entrepreneur, but as a woman?
My mother taught me that honesty
and humility are just as important
in business as courage. I admire her
ability to handle difficult situations with
composure. She showed me that work
only truly makes sense when you have
a solid foundation in your family—and
that’s my greatest source of energy.
Are you able to “switch off” and not
think about business?
We try to separate it, but sooner or later
the conversation always turns to work.
The company is a big part of our lives,
even though we also know how to enjoy
moments away from it.
Thank you for the interview.
Honesty and humility
are just as important
in business as courage.
