started to prepare these for the restaurant. They became
the basis for the restaurant's soft drinks, which became
our famous herbal teas and lemonades.
Customers were curious about what we use to prepare
the lemonades and teas, and what it is that makes them
taste so unmistakable. Then came the moment when we
expanded the production of the syrups. We started to
offer them to our existing customers and from there to
other customers, in both the Czech and Slovak Republics.
The restaurant offers a unique dining experience
with an emphasis on freshness and quality, including
homemade pasta, homemade syrups, etc. An interesting
and quite challenging concept that differs from ordinary
restaurants. Was it a safe bet for you from the start?
Or did the concept shape itself naturally?
We always wanted to make our own pasta. However, we
had no experience with making it. If you look at the various
recipes and procedures found on the internet, you would
think that it can't be that difficult. But nothing is as easy
as it looks at first sight. Whether it's making pasta or other
products. We have mastered everything and because
of that, today we have set standards that ensure that
the quality of all our products are carefully monitored.
So to answer you... I don't know what a sure bet is,
and I don't think any of us do. The basic model of
the restaurant I dreamed up. So as we've traveled a lot,
we've brought some of the world to this restaurant.
But I would say that over time, we're getting closer to
a lot of Mediterranean cuisine, but also Czech cuisine.
Basically, our customer determines that as well. Our
restaurant also includes teas that I mix myself. Herbs
are such a great hobby of mine that I have enjoyed for
years, and I regularly educate myself in this field.
I am one of those people who never give up. If
something doesn't work out, I try to find out why first.
As I mentioned before, Naturprodukt is a family-run
company. We consult together, we help each other,
we support each other. I see that as our greatest and
strongest asset. So even the concept of the restaurant is
fine-tuned together in a family circle.
During your entrepreneurial career, you have
gathered a lot of experience. Which do you consider
the most significant?
My dad, who is an amazing example and a great mentor
to all of us, always says "No one grows a tree in the
sky" and "You can walk the world with a hat under your
arm". It's those simple thoughts that I come back to all
the time in business.
And what would I rank as the most meaningful
experience? Over the years in business, our family
has grown even closer, with more members gradually
joining in, especially our now grown children, who have
experienced everything with us from the cradle.
What are your visions and plans for the future
development of your activities?
We are making plans for the future together with all
of the family members again. We are pleased that
the youngest ones are also involved and that they have
a fresh, new perspective on everything that we create
and build - this in itself is very inspiring. One of our
big plans for this year is to get everything in place for
a successful and sustainable launch of our Naturprodukt
fruit and herb syrups abroad. These products have
already been registered by foreign markets.
And then there are also a number of other major and
minor goals that are closely linked to our customers. They
are the centre of the universe for us.
Mrs. Bartschová, thank you for the interview.
