ČEZ ESCO Built
a Giant Photovoltaic System
for ŠKODA AUTO in Mladá Boleslav
Self-producon of ecological energy in industrial enterprises is both a global and European trend,
which is also increasingly spreading in the Czech Republic. This is conrmed by the cooperaon
of ČEZ ESCO with Škoda Auto and the energy company ŠKO-ENERGO, which commissioned one
of the largest rooop photovoltaic power plants in the Czech Republic.
It consists of three rooftop photovoltaic
systems at the carmaker's main plant in
Mladá Boleslav and at the Škoda Parts
Center logistics centre with an output
of 2.2 MW and a total area of over
10,000 m
2
planted with panels, which
is equivalent to more than 15 tennis
courts. With this amount of energy,
approximately 25,000 Škoda Enyaq
85 cars can be fully charged.
The interest in photovoltaic power
plants among ČEZ ESCO customers
has recently grown significantly.
Progressive companies such as Škoda
Auto are increasingly interested in CO2-
neutral solutions and with their own
photovoltaic power plant they can be
sure that their company uses truly clean
electricity. What's more, they reduce
their operating costs for energy for
decades to come.
Currently, ČEZ ESCO is installing a number
of power plants exceeding 1 megawatt in
size. "The contract for Škoda Auto was
exceptional in its size and complexity. It
is one of the customers that approaches
decarbonisation comprehensively and
works hard to reduce its carbon footprint,"
says Kamil Čermák, CEO of ČEZ ESCO.
The first cooperation between Škoda
Auto, ČEZ ESCO and Ško-Energo on
solar systems began at the end of 2019
with the construction of a photovoltaic
system at the ŠKODA AUTO service
centre in Kosmonosy. The photovoltaic
system there covers an area of more
than 2,200 square metres, has an output
of 441 kWp and produces almost
17% of the Service Centre's energy
consumption annually.
ČEZ ESCO's main mission is to help
industrial, municipal and public
administration customers with
decarbonisation. The company plans
to build or operate photovoltaic power
plants with a total installed capacity
of 300 MW for its customers by 2030.
These installations will be mainly on
rooftops, carports and at customers'
manufacturing sites.
