“When planning sustainable industrial
projects, it is important to take
demographics and socioeconomic factors
into account. The production campus
should be placed in an advantageous
location and offer various services
to the tenants, while also blending into
the local community,” explained Roland
Hofman, co-founder and CEO of Urbanity.
The company’s project in Tachov is
a testament to Urbanity’s ability to blend
industry and local communities, as the Tachov
Campus received the prestigious BREEAM
Communities certification. Urbanity is
planning to follow this success in Bruntál,
where the company has already received
construction permits and is working closely
with the local municipality.
Efficient and Functional Spaces
The Bruntál campus will be constructed
on a neglected brownfield, and the project
includes the expansion of the surrounding
infrastructure and public transit lines.
Upon completion the venue will provide
3 300m
2
units for smaller regional
companies as well as a 20m tall, 36 000m
2
hall for automated robotic production
lines. The campus will also be self-
sufficient thanks to solar panels, heat
pumps and drinking water wells.
“The Bruntál campus will be evaluated
through a complex certification that not
only assess the buildings themselves, but
also the area as a whole and the impact
the project has on the region. This
approach, while much more demanding
and elaborate, offers a more realistic
vision of how well the campus is actually
functioning,” explained Roland Hofman.
Architecture Matters
The Bruntál venue will also differentiate
itself from other industrial parks through
its unique architectural design, handled
by the JA Architekti studio. The goal is to
reflect the region’s industrial character
into the structure through combining
COR-TEN steel with intense greenery,
unique outdoor features and functional
infrastructure.
These spaces will be available to clients
for long-term rent, where individual
structures will be built to order within 6 to
9 months of the contract being signed.
The entire project should be completed in
roughly 3 years.
New Sustainable Industrial
Campus in Bruntál
Industry has always been a part of cies, and we should preserve it in a sustainable way. This is
the thesis behind the second non-tradional industrial campus built by the Urbanity real estate
group. Following the successful example of the Urbanity Campus in Tachov, which recently received
a number of awards, the next project will be based in Bruntál. The project will not only cater to
producon companies through its aracve locaon, but also to employees and local cizens.
