by, sanují se konstrukce a připravujeme

základ pro ocelovou nástavbu muzea,“

řekl ředitel ostravské pobočky NZM Ivan

Berger.

Největší atrakcí nového muzea bude třípatrový mlýn vestavěný doprostřed schodiště, chybět nebude ani výstavka traktorů,

kombajnů, pluhů a dalších strojů nebo

prezentace čtyř ročních období a cesty

potravin od zemědělské a potravinářské

prvovýroby až na stůl.

Plány s druhým muzeem, muzeem Kofoly

byly zatím odloženy z finančních důvodů.

European Union Understands the Moravian-Silesian Region Is Transforming

Representatives

of

the

European

Commission have finished their twoday stay in the Moravian-Silesian Region

with positive impressions. The visitors

from Brussels were shown around model

projects of the gradual transformation

of the region to a so-called post-coal

economy, and to focus on new energy

resources in relation to the RE:START

programme which allows the government

to support structurally affected regions.

The Lower Area of Vítkovice introduced

the representatives of the European

Commission to interesting projects

in education, clean mobility, and the

environment, including the projects of

the University of Ostrava to build two

new department buildings with almost

a billion CZK granted from EU funds. They

were also shown the project to develop

the Moravian-Silesian Energy Centre at

VŠB-TU Ostrava, the solution of the postmining landscapes in the district of Karviná,

and the clean mobility in public transport

in all urban centres of the region. Thanks

to RE:START, the Czech Republic was

permitted to reallocate the EU funds not

invested so far in the former coal-mining

regions. The current sum is about eight

billion CZK.

Agricultural Museum

to Open in Ostrava in 2019

The area of Dolní Vítkovice is going to

house two more museums. While one

is being built, set to open in 2019, the

other will take a few years to finish. The

National Museum of Agriculture (Národní

zemědělské museum, NZM) in Ostrava

is going to be the first regional branch

of a state institution of this kind. The

construction of this branch of the National

Museum of Agriculture has been a busy site

since September. The former Veronikárna

hall is being transformed. “So far, the

interior has been demolished, supporting

structures are renewed, and the basement

for a steel extension of the museum is

being prepared,” said Ivan Berger, CEO at

NZM Ostrava.

The greatest attractions of the new

museum will include a tree-floor mill built

in the central stairway, an exposition of

tractors, combine harvesters, ploughs, and

other machinery, expositions of the four

seasons, and the journey of food from its

production and processing to a family’s

dining table.

Development of the other museum,

Museum of Kofola, is being held off due

to financing.
