ROZHOVOR
From the Local Region
to the Other Side of the World

Advisory company EY has held the Podnikatel roku
(Entrepreneur of the Year) contest in the MoravianSilesian Region since 2005. Ing. Mohelník has been
among those awarded Entrepreneurs of the Year.
Ferrit is a Czech enterprise (est. in 1993) operating on
the global market. From a trading company it developed
into a production enterprise with its own development
centre. The majority of its production is in suspended
monorail transport systems, which has won the company
its leading position worldwide.
Mr Mohelník, your company celebrated its twenty-fifth
anniversary, and you were also awarded Entrepreneur
of the Year in 2018. How closely are these two related?
First I want to emphasize that I do not consider the award
Entrepreneur of the Year my personal success, it is an

award and reward to all the company for all the work
and outcomes. In our enterprise as well as in many more
businesses, an individual is nothing, it is the team that
counts, and we have developed our team for twenty-five
years. 300 of our employees are highly qualified and
skilled, the most precious feature of Ferrit. Celebrating
the anniversary and the award in the same year is a very
favourable coincidence and a nice symbol which rewards
our common work and confirms our plans for the future.
Your production plan is closely related to extraction
companies. What is the future of this field in Europe
and worldwide?
In fact, I cannot see any future in Europe, probably
excluding Poland and Ukraine, the two countries with
active mining industries. Our company mostly benefits
