Cylinders Holding:
history, quality, experience
Cylinder production with a century of tradition
Cylinders Holding is a leading producer in high-pressure
seamless steel cylinders, pressure vessels, and highpressure gas containers. Their tradition of steel cylinder
production goes back more than a hundred years;
for decades it has been closely connected to Ostrava
and the Moravian-Silesian Region, but it also extends
to neighbouring countries. Products and innovative
solutions provided by Cylinders Holding are delivered
to customers in countries all over the world.
mainly virtual gas pipe technology, automotive CNG,
and cutting-edge trends in the use of hydrogen.
Cylinders Holding is a group which has grown upon the
tradition of Vítkovice Ironworks (est. 1828). In 1999 the
Holding parted from the machinery plants of Vítkovice
and has developed as an independent section, in three
strictly defined spheres: pressure cylinders and vessels,
applications (mobile and stationary gas containers),
and services. In 2017 the Holding introduced anew
logo and underwent an overall rebranding.
From 1906, when the first pressure steel cylinder was
made in Ostrava, straight through to the present, the
companies of Cylinders Holding have produced and
distributed over 25 million high-pressure steel cylinders
made in their own facilities according to their own
know-how based on the unique method of reverse
extrusion from a block of steel. These products are used
in a wide range of applications from small cylinders in
respiration equipment to large pressure vessels used in
trailers and containers of virtual gas pipe technology.
Cylinders Holding is a growing international corporation
exclusively owned by Czech capital, with customers
and business partners, hundreds of companies in over
70 countries all over the world.
The group’s research and development have recently
focused on the mobility and storage of energy resources,
Crucial fields using steel cylinders:
• technical welding & shielding gases
• fire extinguishing technologies
