for all of our medical programs, general
medicine in both Czech and English, as
well as dentistry. We will also use this
opportunity to make meaningful changes
to the curriculum. These will include, for
example, a unified practical state exam, or
the splitting of anatomy into classical and
clinical anatomy, that are to be taught in
different years. Needless to say, there will be
a lot of changes.
The number of applicants to your faculty
has been steadily increasing every year. Are
you once again expecting record interest?
The image of our faculty has been getting
progressively better. This is due to our
personal approach to students, the
excellent SIMLEK Training Hospital and
the Ostrava University Hospital (FNO).
We offer over 20 different programs
in attractive medical fields that have
promising futures. Graduates of these
study programmes are bound to be sought
after. General Medicine, Dentistry and
Physiotherapy are our most popular study
programmes. Other interesting medical
programs that are perhaps not so well
known are for example, Ergotherapy,
Radiology Assistant, Medical Laboratory
Technician or Public Health protection.
If there is anyone out there wanting to
study medicine, but they are also worried
that they might not get accepted among
the many applicants, applying to study
medicine in English might be for them.
This program is open to foreigners as well
as to Czechs and Slovaks, and the number
of applicants usually does not exceed
capacity as much as is the case in Czech
language study. Even though this study
programme is charged, as it is considered
above the standard, this is common
practice abroad and in the context of
current economic conditions, makes sense.
