Karvina’s Castle Petrovice Wins Again The Ministry

Our employees planted over 30 grown trees in the park on Earth Day. In winter, all pavements and walkways are treated with an environmentallyfriendly brine. We water our plants in summer with water from a local stream, Petrůvka, which gets back in the soil and goes through its natural cycle; we do not waste drinking water. All batteries and shower heads in our wellness centre are equipped with economical heads which helps us save up to 20 % drinking water. We have applied these measures to the hotel and restaurant, too. All the hotel, wellness centre and restaurant areas are lit by economical electric bulbs. We feel it is important to save energy as well as food: the castle kitchen follows strict rules. Recycling is absolutely necessary. We order supplies in a recyclable packaging, which leads to less waste. In the social sphere, we are active in the support of children, seniors, and sports clubs. Our employees and their personal development are also very important: that is why we have established an andragogical project -- Vzdělání je život (Education is life) -- which provides our employees with expert education and training.
