Today, the trend is to present companies as sustainable
and environmentally friendly. How is it in your case? Is it
just a fashion trend or a response to public pressure?
In the Lenzing Group, we have stringent rules in the field
of ecology and sustainability. Sustainability is not just
a phrase for our company, but one of the main values that
Lenzing applies in its strategy. Responsible production, which
begins with the processing of certified wood, results not
only in textile fibers with extraordinary properties, but also
in fibers that are completely compostable and biodegradable
in the soil. The Lenzing Group holds an internationally
recognized certificate of sustainability and is a pioneer in the
field of textile fiber recycling.
We are not indifferent to what our planet will look like
in a few years and in what condition we will leave it to future
generations.
The last few months have brought a lot of changes.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all and limited
us in all areas. How does Lenzing Biocel Paskov a.s. cope
with this difficult situation?
Prior to the declaration of the state of emergency, our
company implemented measures to prevent the spread
of the disease and protect our employees’ health. We did
not have to interrupt production and we could continue
to supply pulp to our customers. Recent months have
shown us how quickly the situation can change and how
important it is to follow set measures. As I have already
mentioned, our pulp is also used for the production
of protective aids in healthcare and feminine hygiene
products and cosmetics. However, we also sell a significant
proportion of pulp for the further production of textile
fibers. It is the production and sales of textiles that have been
hit hard by the crisis throughout the chain.
In which professions can job seekers find employment
in your company?
Lenzing Biocel Paskov a.s. is an innovative company.
We use modern technologies and the best available
techniques. Due to the wide range of machinery and
technologies, we offer potential employees a wide
and interesting application range. For the production
of pulp, we need employees qualified in the field
of chemistry, automation, engineering or wood
processing. As part of our production, we also operate
our power generation plant, where electricians,
electrical engineers or power engineers in particular
can find employment. We operate an extensive clean
water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant,
so we also offer jobs for these professions. This year,
we opened a training program for new employees
to support them more intensively in the training process.
This training in our company lasts several months. This
program is also dedicated to people who do not have
a technical education, but have decided to work with
us and learn everything from the beginning.
What is your approach to employees, and what do you
offer them?
We are aware that the success of our company depends
primarily on the knowledge, experience, and initiative
of our employees. We strive to maintain a stable
team and a good atmosphere in all workplaces. We
motivate our employeesto participate in improvement
processes. We support the balance of work and
personal life of our employees. Equal access to each
of our employees is a matter of course. Our employees
have the opportunity to participate in training
programs focused in various areas, whether within our
company or international programs taking place in the
Lenzing Group. Our company provides a wide range
of employee benefits. With but a few exceptions, our
employees stay with us for a long time, which confirms
that our human approach pays off.
