VŠB-TUO má prvního humanoidního robota
VŠB – Technická univerzita Ostrava pořídila za 1,5 milionu korun prvního humanoidního robota. Vznikne nový předmět Humanoidní robotika v průmyslové praxi, kde se studenti v živých laboratořích naučí bezpečně spolupracovat se stroji. Výzkum se zaměří na integraci robotů do průmyslu, kyberbezpečnost i otázku nahrazování lidské práce. Téma má i geopolitický rozměr: Čína dnes v humanoidní robotice výrazně dominuje a Evropa musí posilovat svou nezávislost.

VŠB-TUO Has its First Humanoid Robot
VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava has acquired its first humanoid robot for CZK 1.5 million. A new course, Humanoid Robotics in Industrial Practice, will be created, where students will learn how to work safely with machines in living labs. The research will focus on integrating robots into industry, cybersecurity, and the question of replacing human labour. The topic also has a geopolitical dimension: China currently has a significant lead in humanoid robotics, and Europe must strengthen its independence.
ChatGPT je pro Čechy jasnou volbou
Tři čtvrtiny Čechů dnes aspoň příležitostně používají umělou inteligenci – trojnásobek oproti roku 2023. Vyplývá to z průzkumu Deloitte TMT Highlights 2026. Nejaktivnější jsou lidé ve věku 25–35 let, zajímavým posunem je ale nástup žen: více žen než mužů nyní uvádí, že AI aktivně využívají.
Rozšiřuje se i paleta nástrojů. Vedle nejpoužívanějšího nástroje ChatGPT si Češi oblíbili Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Claude, Perplexity nebo AI funkce přímo v telefonech a sociálních sítích.

ChatGPT Is the Clear Choice for Czechs
Three quarters of Czechs now use artificial intelligence at least occasionally – three times more than in 2023. This is according to the Deloitte TMT Highlights 2026 survey. The most active users are people aged 25–35, but an interesting shift is the rise of women: more women than men now say they actively use AI.
The range of tools being used is also expanding. Alongside the most widely used tool, ChatGPT, Czechs have also taken to Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and AI features built directly into phones and social media platforms.
The way people search for information is changing as well. Traditional search engines are still trusted by 55% of users, AI chatbots are used by 30%, and social media by 15%. Among young people aged 15–24, however, the order has reversed – AI chatbots are their first source of information, with Google only their third choice. The youngest users, aged 15–17, also verify AI outputs less often than older generations.
Česko spouští vlastní AI továrnu
V Ostravě byl zahájen projekt Czech AI Factory (CZAI) s rozpočtem téměř miliardy korun. Díky němu získají firmy, startupy i nemocnice přístup k superpočítačovým kapacitám a expertní podpoře, aniž by musely budovat vlastní drahou infrastrukturu.
Projekt koordinuje VŠB-TUO a její superpočítačové centrum IT4Innovations spolu s pěti dalšími předními českými univerzitami a výzkumnými institucemi.

Czechia Launches its Own AI Factory
The Czech AI Factory (CZAI) project has been launched in Ostrava with a budget of almost one billion crowns. Thanks to the project, companies, start-ups and hospitals will gain access to supercomputing capacity and expert support without having to build their own expensive infrastructure. Industry will be able to introduce AI into production more quickly, healthcare will use AI in diagnostics and drug development, and the energy sector will use it to optimise networks. The first tangible result is an AI voicebot for the 112 emergency line, which is already being tested in live operation.
The project is coordinated by VŠB-TUO and its IT4Innovations supercomputing centre, together with five other leading Czech universities and research institutions.
