The M.E.S. HE3DA batteries are closely
associated with the most cutting-
edge energy technologies. They are
an original platform with a wide array
of uses, and options to effectively and
efficiently store energy. Currently, the
HE3DA battery cells are mainly made
for use in energetics and industry, but
also in households. They can serve as
a large, cheap, and safe energy storage.
On top of this, M.E.S. is also focused on
the future implementation of HE3DA
batteries into heavy equipment, trucks
and ships.
In his greeting speech, deputy chairman
of the European committee, Mar
Šefčovič, also mentioned that the
M.E.S. factory allowed the Czech
Republic to become one of the key
actors in the European battery alliance:
“It is an exemplary project that aids
Europe in maintaining a competitive
advantage in the fields of innovation and
sustainability, and increases its strategic
independence.”
This project, concerning the expansion
of production capacity of modern and
original Czech accumulators in the
František industrial zone, has been
presented the award for Positive
Economic Development of the Moravian-
Silesian by the Association for the
Development of the Moravian-Silesian
Region and the POSITIV B&S magazine,”
stated the association’s director, Radúz
Mácha.
The production of batteries is
extraordinarily important in light of the
need for the switch into clean energy
and the modernisation of industry.
Jan Procházka, Czech scientist, inventor,
and author of the patent, says that the
development phase, which lasted several
years, has now been completed, and that
the M.E.S. company is now moving on to
the commercial stage. “The project will
bring not only money, but also future
business in the form of follow-up factories,
to North Moravia and other regions. We
arrived at the right moment to dictate
the direction of future development in
energetics. It is an undeniably large step
forward for not only the local region, but
also the entirety of the Czech Republic.
We are starting to take hold of the global
technological lead in this field--we are
at the top of the pyramid!”
As part of the opening ceremony, which
had a rich accompanying program, guests
also had the opportunity to see not only
the HE3DA batteries, but also to become
familiar with the solution of household
and industry implementation of storage,
including rapid-charging stations for
electric cars.
Tomorrow is what is really important
now. My goal is to attract a total of one
million euros to the Karviná region, and
to make the patented HE3DA technology
a strong and innovative part of the Czech
and European industries. We are currently
in possession of 400,000 m2 of land
for the construction of further operations.
We are interested in expanding battery
production, which will be linked
to supply and demand chains connected to
electromobility and hi-tech development.
This should create about 2,000 new
employment positions in the region,”
said major shareholder and investor of
the project, Radomír Prus. The HE3DA
production technology in the M.E.S.
factory is fully robotic and automated in
accordance with Industry 4.0. The final
capacity can be expanded in the future
from 15 to 30 GWh per year.
